Care and Cleaning

Your board is alive and needs proper maintenance. To preserve the antibacterial properties of teak wood, it is important to wax your board often.

Follow this care instructions and learn how to clean and wax your products.

  • Clean your board by hand with water and soap.

Wooden boards are not dishwasher safe.

  • Don't leave the board submerged in water as it can lead to warping.

  • Dry the board with a small towel and leave it to rest on one side overnight.

  • Long exposure to direct sunlight may warp and even crack wooden products.

It is a great idea to apply wax often; any time you notice the coating is fading.

  • We recommend beeswax, coconut or linseed oil.

Do not use olive or vegetable oil, as it may accumulate acids and interfere with food flavors with time.

  • Spread the wax with a clean towel and let the wood soak it for at least 30 minutes.

Remove the excess wax using a clean cloth.
